Overview
The Procedural Nurse utilizes a systematic approach to nursing by
incorporating assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
in the practice of nursing. Provides healthcare to individuals,
families, and communities within the RN scope of practice as
defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing.
Qualifications
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American
Heart Association (AHA); Licensed Registered Professional Nurse
(RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
(IDFPR), Education: Associate's Degree, Work Experience: None
Responsibilities
Performs advanced nursing activities, which can include assisting
with procedures using local anesthetic, and placement of
IV's.Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and
families in area of practice. Ensures adherence to established
standards of care and scope of practice.Ensures documentation of
care is complete and accurate.Provides health and wellness
education to individuals and groups.Acts as preceptor and supports
the development of other staff and healthcare students.Provides
leadership for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care
or clinical outcomes.Assists Nursing Supervisor/coordinator in the
development of departmental standing orders.Assist with Mohs
procedures/numbing patients.Responsible for working patients up for
consult.Performs Mohs tech - slide prep/frozen section prepPrepares
equipment for sterilization, processes equipment via sterilization,
maintains equipment neccesary for sterilization.Assist with in
office procedures such as Mohs surgery, excision, biopsy, and
dermabrasion. To include education of patient administration of
local anesthetic. Administration of medications in the office.
Provide in office education for patients regarding procedures
aftercare. Obtain prior authorizations for procedures. Perform
telephone triage for acute patient needs. Cleaning, stocking of
exam rooms. Cleaning sterilization of procedure equipment. Maintain
knowledge of histology lab procedures assist when necessary.
Patient scheduling. Taking photos of lesions/wounds uploading
photos to EMR. Pre-procedural education.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $29per hour - $49.88per
hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for
the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual
compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of
factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience,
qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and
